YES THIS IS AFRICA

Dear Redeemer Family:

Lord willing I will be preaching at New City Fellowship tomorrow morning and then very late in the evening beginning the long trip home.

I long to see you all and I am praying for your gathering to worship our Lord tomorrow.

I had a great opportunity to go on an overnight photo Safari and found out that, yes this is Africa!

Sorry that I can only share a few,

IT IS A LONG WAY TO LIRA

Dear Redeemer:

Sorry to have been out of touch for awhile but I was away ALL weekend and up and out at 6:00 a.m. on Monday to make some visits in Kampala on Monday, being a part of a leadership class in the afternoon and beginning with the ABU alumni meeting in the evening and then going full bore since then.

On Friday we got stuck for two hours in rain and Kampala traffic on the way to Lira.

CHAPEL & NILE

Dear Redeemer:

During the last Chapel I preached at ABU the choir and Gady of the Psalms Project led us in a lively rendition of Psalm 133.

WATERING THE EARTH

Dear Redeemer:

It is the rainy season in Uganda, with showers mostly at night, where everything seems to be in bloom and dropping their seeds.

HAPPY AT THE HOKES!

Dear Redeemer:

I can’t imagine being here without the hospitality of Tim & Cheri Hoke.  Not only have they feed me many meals, done my laundry, set up times of ministry and are patient with my never ending set of questions.  What a blessing they are to me and African Bible University.

SLEEP AND STUDENTS

Dear Redeemer:

My internal clock has been "off kilter" for a week but in God’s kindness I had a great night sleep last night and yes I use the mosquito net at night.

Started the series of messages today in the Chapel from 1 Samuel on David who in the midst of many dilemmas always returned to trusting in Lord.

WORSHIP AT NEW CITY

Dear Redeemer:

I came 8,000 miles to Uganda and almost missed preaching at New City Church 8 miles away.  Kampala well over a million residents and the normally 20 minute ride took and hour and fifteen minutes.  The picture I took is while we were speeding along.

JET LAG

Dear Redeemer Family:

I am glad for this day without responsibilities as I was told that the third day is often when Jet Lag hits you and it has.

But I was able to finish up my message for tomorrow and the internet was working so I was able to Skype with Marg.
