Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Matthew Kerr, Senior Pastor

In February of 2012, the session of Redeemer called Matthew Kerr to serve as Assistant to the Pastor. He was ordained and installed as Assistant Pastor a few months later.  In February of 2014 Matthew was made Associate Pastor. In October of 2016 Matthew was made Senior Pastor.  He has a wife, Sarah, and three children: Neill, Benjamin, and Hannah.

Matthew is originally from western Pennsylvania, where both he and Sarah attended Geneva College. He graduated from Geneva with his B.A. in Christian ministries in 2006 and married Sarah that same year. For three years, he worked as a machinist in a factory close to home. In 2009 they left Pennsylvania so that Matthew could pursue theological education at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, north of Boston. During his time in seminary, Matthew served Redeemer as a pastoral intern, and was actively involved in leading the church’s ministry to teens. On graduation from seminary, he began full-time ministry at Redeemer. As Associate Pastor, he continues working with the youth while also sharing the teaching and administrative duties at Redeemer.

Matthew has a love for preaching and personal discipleship, and he is excited to see God working in both of these areas of his life. He is also passionate about family discipleship, as he is trying to be faithful to the calling that God has given him as a father.
